Moniek Tromp is Professor of Materials Chemistry and has been Director of the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials since 2023. She joined the University of Groningen in 2018, following an international academic career that included positions at the University of Southampton, the Technical University of Munich and the University of Amsterdam.
Alongside her research, Tromp has held numerous national and international leadership and advisory roles, working at the intersection of science, industry and society. She is currently Captain of Science of the Top Sector Chemistry and President of the Initiative for Science in Europe.
